Obituary

James Warren Hadden passed away unexpectedly at his home in Pinetops, North Carolina, January 22, 2018.

Jim was born April 10, 1972 in Ontonagon, Michigan to Steven C. and Sue A. Hadden. He moved with the family to Quinnesec Michigan and attended Kingsford schools. Later the family moved to Lake Gaston, North Carolina where Jim graduated from Halifax Academy in 1990. He attended Halifax Community College graduating with dual degrees in Electrical Engineering Technology and Electromechanical Engineering Technology. He then attended East Carolina University earning a B.S. In Industrial Engineering. He was employed by Superior Essex for more than 20 years.

He married Effie Matthews in 1995. They had a daughter Haley in 2008.

Jim enjoyed outdoor activities such as boating, fishing, snowmobiling, trail riding, and nice cars. He had a welding hobby and did some fabrication. He was handy, and a great troubleshooter. He helped friends and family with all kinds of projects. He was into electronics, and had his house all wired up with the latest TVs, computers, laptops, and gadgets. He took pride in raising and caring for his daughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife Effie of 18 years. Jim is survived by his daughter Haley; his parents Steve and Sue Hadden of Vulcan, Michigan; his brother Mark (Erin) Hadden; and nephews Knox and Oliver. Other survivors include his paternal grandmother Mary Jean Hadden; 3 uncles, 4 aunts, and 7 cousins.

Jim took welding and air conditioning classes, and he taught night classes in Electronics at ECC.

Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Carlisle Funeral Home.
