Wiley Clinton Hatley



Wiley Clinton Hatley passed away on November 29, 2017 after a long hard battle. He was surrounded by those who loved him, Sammy, Angie, his faithful dog Queen and loving care giver Elsa. Clinton was a simple kind of man. He was a farmer, heavy equipment operator, fisherman, hunter, and the best Pop Pop ever. He loved the Lord, his family and the outdoors.

Clinton was preceded in death by his wife Nellie, his parents and his siblings.

Clinton is survived by his daughter Angie and husband Sammy, of Tarboro; granddaughters, which he adored, Gini, of Evanston, Illinois, Samantha, of Haw River, and a dear special friend Trudy Reynolds of Olin. Clinton was also survived by a large loving extended family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held graveside at Edgecombe Memorial Park, Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 2:00pm with the Rev. Billy Crabtree officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the home of Angie and Sammy Gregg, 521 Manning Road, Tarboro, NC.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 3:00pm at Bells Baptist Church, 1274 Farrington Road in Apex, NC with Rev. Billy Crabtree officiating the service. The family will also be receiving friends at the church from 2:00pm until service time.

In lieu of flowers, Clinton requested donations be made to “children who don’t have shoes on their feet”. Donations can be sent to FBC, 605 North Main Street, Tarboro, NC 27886 for Sole Hope.
