Aug 31, 1954 - Jun 30, 2017

Mrs. Virginia K. Crisp “GaGa” age 62, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on August 31, 1954 in Norfolk, Virginia.

Virginia met no strangers. She greeted each person with her mesmerizing eyes and infectious smile. Music brought joy to her spirit and enriched her soul. Her greatest accomplishments in life were raising her two children while working third shift, going to school part time and providing a home full of love and happiness. She showed the world that having only a ninth grade education led her to pursue her GED and continuing to obtain a degree in Applied Science. Virginia’s passion in life were vacations at the beach, taking care of her plants , watching her grandkids play, cooking on the grill and late nights watching movies with RC. She was a beloved Mama, GaGa, Sister, Aunt and friend. She will be eternally missed by all who knew her.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory a loving family, which includes her son Christopher Kitzman “ Chris” of Tarboro, daughter, Jennifer Atkinson and husband Gary of Nashville, sisters Shirley Grubb and husband Jeff of Hobgood, Linda Williams and husband Danny of Tarboro, brother Bo Cannon and wife Pansy of Hobgood, Grandchildren Lindsey, John Thomas, Jacob and Trent. A very special lifelong beloved friend, RC Robbins Jr. who loved her unconditionally.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Carlisle Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends Wednesday night from 7 until 9 Pm at the funeral home. The family will receive friends other times at the home. The interment will follow the service at Edgecombe Memorial Park.
