Jun 26, 1931 - Apr 24, 2017

Goldie Mayo Beach, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2017.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Carlisle Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley E. Buck Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.

Goldie worked at Carolina Enterprise for many, many years where she enjoyed purchasing toys made there for her family and friends. She dedicated her life to looking after her “June Bug”. They were inseparable for the last few years of their lives, even at Prodigy Transitional Rehabilitation where they shared a room since they both were admitted on the same day in February 2016.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ruie Mayo, sister, Hellen Mayo Harrell, a brother, Dennis “Brownie” Mayo; a special niece, Vivian Harrell Goff, and her special friend, Pearl Scott who also passed away before her.

Goldie is survived by her husband of 58 years, James “Junior” Beach. She also leaves behind her brothers, Cecil Mayo, of Kilgore, Texas, and Jack Mayo, of Kinston, NC; and a sister-in-law, Peggy Beach Pittman, of Rocky Mount, NC. She had many special nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and precious friends at Bojangles and McDonalds. Her eyes lit up when Parker Brown, her handsome, helpful and favorite great-great nephew came around.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday from 1:00-2:00pm at Carlisle Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Freewill Baptist Children’s Home, 7907 Buck Deans Rd., Middlesex, NC 27557, or the First Free Will Baptist Church, 3150 Western Blvd., Tarboro, NC 27886.
